Las Vegas and the surrounding areas might be opening back up, but by no means does that mean that we’ve seen the end of the pandemic. While the casinos, restaurants, and shows might have closed down for several weeks, real estate in the area has continued to move forward since the beginning. People have been buying and selling homes but in a much different way. The “new normal” in real estate includes doing many of the steps virtually, including actually showing a house.
Plenty of people in the Las Vegas and Henderson area are still planning on selling their homes in the next few months. Here are a few tips for selling your home virtually.
Stage Your Home and Take Good Photos
In the past, most people would hire a staging company to come in and get the job done for them. Nowadays, however, it’s much more prudent to take care of matters on your own instead of taking the risk of letting others inside your home. To start, make sure your house is deep cleaned and decluttered. Deep clean any carpeting and flooring, scrub the bathroom, and powerwash the exterior to get the space looking fresh. Put away any items that don’t serve an aesthetic purpose in the room, like clutter or children’s toys.
Once the house is looking good, start taking photos. If you don’t have a nice camera, use a smartphone. Many phones nowadays have high-quality cameras that will take stunning photos, just make sure to avoid using ones that are blurry or have a bad angle.
Find a Realtor via Video Chat
A real estate agent, especially during a pandemic, is crucial to selling a home successfully. Luckily, apps and software like Zoom and FaceTime allow us to somewhat meet face to face without actually having to leave the safety of our own homes. Get in touch with a few agents and find someone who is willing to work to not only sell your house, but to make sure that you and your family are safe during the process. Additionally, you will want to find somebody who can navigate the market during a rocky period and find buyers who are serious and ready to make a purchase.
Host a Virtual Open House
A virtual house can be a great, safe way to show off your home without having to bring others inside of it. Work with your Realtor and come up with a plan. One good idea would be to create a group on Facebook to market the open house and invite others to join. During the open house, you can show off the different rooms and answer questions about the space and the neighborhood.
Afterward, if you begin to find buyers who are super interested, you can invite them to a more personal virtual showing to give them a better look at the space. And, if you decide that you’re comfortable with an in-person one, ask that they wear masks and limit the number of people who come and see it.
